James Winter is a professional London-based actor. He is experienced in Musicals, Feature and Short Films, Commercials and Voice-overs. He is a skilled Ballad and Baritone singer while also having a good grip over Jazz Dancing. Winter has also had a fair share of experience as a Tour Guide.
He trained at the Guildford School of Acting, graduating with a BA Honours degree in 2008.
He has been part of many musicals like The Full Monty as Ethan Girard at The Key Theatre (2008); Jersey Boys as Han Majewski/understudy Bob Gaudio & Bob Crewe (2009-11); Lucky Stiff as Harry Witherspoon at the Landor Theatre (2012); Les Miserables as Claquesous/cover Bamatabois/cover Bishop at the Cameron Mackintosh Limited (2012); Carnaby Street: The Musical as Mike/cover Jude/cover Jack by Carnaby Street Productions (2013); Shrek: The Musical as an Ensemble/Cover Lord Farquaad/Cover Shrek (2015); Jersey Boys (UK Tour) as Hank Majewski, u/s Gaudio and Bob Crewe (2018).
His Pantomime credits include Ensemble in Jack and the Beanstalk (2007, Evolution Pantomime); Dandini in Cinderella (2008, Upstage Productions); Prince Valiant in Sleeping Beauty (2011, Upstage Productions).
Winter was in the 2010 workshop for Stephen Edwards’ Moon Landing as Fido, and the 2012 workshop for Paul Foster and Mark Goucher’s The Last Maharaja as an Ensemble.
In 2014, he played the role of Barman in Big View Media’s Beyond.
He features in various short films like Stat (Dusted Mirror Productions, 2014) as Homeless Shelter Owner, I Pull the Strings (Arista Pictures, 2016) and D-E3B1E (UCA Farnham, 2016).
He was a Vocalist in Supernova: The Musical Concept Album (2011) and Chariot Pre Production Recording (2007).
Winter worked as a voiceover artist for ‘Say It’ Productions’ Educational Textbook by Richard Manuel.
