Jemma Alexander

Jemma Alexander is a British singer and actress best known for the 2017 Beauty and the Beast movie. She is currently an ensemble in Pretty Woman: The Musical.

 

Training:

Jemma went to the London School of Musical Theatre (LSMT) for training in theatre and music and graduated with distinction.

Theatre:

She has been in plenty of theatre-shows to date. Her credits include Gouda in Hope at the Bridewell Theatre; Tony, Susan, first cover and played Pam Lukowski in The Full Monty at the New Players Theatre; Kathy Selden in Singin’ in the Rain at the Broadway Studio Theatre; Maid, first cover and played Maria Merelli in Lend Me a Tenor at Gielgud Theatre and the Theatre Royal, Plymouth; Mrs Simpson, first cover Mrs Walker in Tommy at the English Theatre, Frankfurt; Madame Defarge in A Tale of Two Cities at the Charing Cross Theatre; Joanne in the 20th Anniversary Concert UK Tour of Rent, as well as the Hackney Empire; Elphaba in the Original UK Tour of Wicked; Jeannie in The Great American Trailer Park Musical at the Waterloo East Theatre; Cast of 4 in Jest End at the Waterloo East Theatre; Lulu in Bloody Bloody Jessica Fletcher at The Other Palace; first cover and played the role of Sloane in Bat Out of Hell in the West End, Toronto and Manchester.

While training, she played Diana in Absent Friends, Gouda in Hope, Alice in The Duchess, Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, Emily in Othello, and Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd.

Film:

Jemma portrayed the role of the Housewife in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

TV:

She was an ensemble in The Sound of Music Live (ITV).

Music:

Her voice is featured in the Original Cast Recordings of Lend Me a Tenor, Tommy, and Bat Out of Hell.
