Mary Doherty

Mary Doherty is a British actress and acting teacher who has been in the industry for about two decades. She is also the brain behind the Actors Class.

 

Theatre:

Her extensive career in theatre involved her in a wide variety of roles. Her credits include Matthew Warchus’ Our House at The Cambridge Theatre (2002), Rizzo in the UK tour of David Gilmore’s Grease (2004), James Powell’s Les Miserables at the Queen’s Theatre (2005), Tatiana in Joanna Read’s Two Cities at the Salisbury Playhouse (2006), Gregory Doran’s Merry Wives (Royal Shakespeare Company, 2007), Mrs T and Yellow Bear in Jason Moore’s Avenue Q at the Noel Coward Theatre (2008), Mrs Loomis in Trevor Nunn’s Inherit The Wind at The Old Vic (2009), Choir in James Powell’s Les Miserables 25th Anniversary Concert (2010), Patience in Mark Rosenblatt’s Henry VIII at Shakespeare’s Globe (2010), Lady Celia in Jon Dove’s Anne Boleyn at Shakespeare’s Globe (2011), What You Will in Mark Rylance’s Pop Up Shakespeare’s Globe (2012), Queen Margaret in Nick Bangall’s Henry VI Trilogy in the UK tour (2013), Charlotte Malcolm in Alex Clifton’s A Little Night Music at the Storyhouse (2018) and Bonnie Harris in Christopher Ashley’s Come From Away at the Abbey Theatre Dublin (2018).

TV:

She also has a decade of experience in television, having appeared as Grace Darlin in True Stories: Grace Darling (BBC, 2011), Emilia in Othello at Shakespeare Uncovered/Shakespeare’s Globe/Sky Arts (2014), Viv in Casualty (BBC, 2018) and Daisy in EastEnders (BBC, 2019).

Radio:

On the radio, she was a part of BBC Radio 4’s The Saudi Prince And The Pauper (2015) as Custody Sergeant/Sandy and How To Have A Perfect Marriage Series 3 (2016).

Commercials:

Mary has appeared in the ads of Girls On Top (Heart 106.2) in 2009, Quakers Oats (2014), The Mirror (2015) and ASDA (2015).
