Melissa Jacques

Hailing from Greater London, Melissa Jacques is a professional Musical Theatre artist. She is a brilliant actress with a powerful voice. She was also a member of the close vocal harmony group The Unconventionals.

 

Training:

Melissa went to The Constance Grant Dance Centre, Sheffield and also attended the London School of Musical Theatre.

Theatre:

She has worked extensively in theatre and has played numerous roles. Some of them are Crystal in Chris Colby’s Little Shop of Horrors (1996); Sophia Stainsley Asherton in Richard Cheshire’s Me and My Girl (1996) at the Aberystwyth Arts Centre; Beautician/Daughter/Air Hostess in Justin Greene’s Spend Spend Spend (1997) at the West Yorkshire Playhouse; Tess in Richard Cheshire’s Crazy For You (1997) at the Aberystwyth Arts Centre; Bridget in Chris Colby’s A Slice of Saturday Night (1997); Daughter/Tart/1st Cover/Young Viv in the National Tour of Spend Spend Spend (2001); Georgie Buktinsky in Maddie Loftin’s The Full Monty (2004) in its National Tour; Gloria/Science Officer in Chris Colby’s Return To the Forbidden Planet (2004); Witch in Chris Colby’s Beauty and the Beast (2004) at the Lincoln Theatre Royal; Nancy in Chris Colby’s Oliver (2005) at the Lincoln Theatre Royal; Sarah in Karen Hebden’s Company (2005) at the Derby Playhouse; Alternate Witch/Step-sister in Karen Hebden’s Into the Woods (2006) at the Derby Playhouse; Ensemble in Chess (2007); Ensemble in Nikolai Foster’s My Fair Lady (2007); Alternate Donna in Plyllida Lloyd’s Mamma Mia! (2008); Ensemble/understudy Madame Morrible in Joe Mantello’s Wicked (2013) at the Victoria Apollo; Trish in Jerry Micthell’s Kinky Boots (2016) at the Adelphi Theatre; Midd Hedge, Ray and u/s Margaret in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie (2018) at the Apollo Theatre.

Workshop:

Melissa was a part of the 2007 workshop for Desperately Seeking Susan as Matron/Vickie/Tara Mars, as well as the workshops for Paris Thunder, Blag, and We Will Rock You.
