Rachael Wooding

Born in 1979, Rachael Wooding is musical theatre performer from Harlington, Doncaster. She is a Mezzo-soprano who appeared on the 2016 Britain’s Got Talent and made it to the semi-finals. She started her musical career in Germany in shows like Starlight Express and Cats. After her success in the West End, performing in shows such as Fame and Saturday Night Fever, she joined the original London cast of Hairspray the Musical as Amber. After leaving the role in 2008, she took on the title role in Evita the Musical on its UK tour.

 

Training:

Rachael trained at the Doreen Bird College of Performing Arts.

Theatre:

She has worked extensively in the theatre. Her credits include her role as Alice in the musical Wonderland (UK Tour); Scaramouche, Meat in We Will Rock You (West End); Mary Delgado in Jersey Boys (West End); Amanda in Bright Lights, Big City (London); Eva Peron in Evita (UK Tour); Amber Von Tussle in Hairspray (West End); Meat in We Will Rock You (West End); Annette in Saturday Night Fever (West End); AJ in Loveshack (UK Tour); Ariel in Footloose (UK Tour); Serena in Fame (West End); Pearl the Observation Car in Starlight Express (Germany); Rumpleteazer/Bombalurina/Demeter in Cats (Hamburg); Spirit in Spirit of the Dance (US Tour); Pippa/Joanne in Fat Friends The Musical (UK Tour) and Mermaid in Peter Pan (Qdos Entertainment).
