Allegra London tickets

Dame Maureen Lipman returns to the West End this summer in the new comedy Allegra, written by Tony and Olivier Award nominee Peter Quilter. Playing at the Harold Pinter Theatre from 8 July to 8 August 2026, the production is directed and choreographed by Stephen Mear (Mary Poppins, Hello, Dolly!).

Lipman is joined by John Middleton, Elizabeth Bower and Bailey Patrick in a heartwarming new comedy that blends music and comedy. Currently touring the UK ahead of its West End transfer, Allegra brings a joyful, life-affirming story to London’s summer season.

About Allegra

A woman who cannot stop singing sees the world differently — and hears it differently too. For Allegra, music is never confined to performance; it appears in everyday life, transforming ordinary spaces into something far more vivid and unpredictable.

At home, her brother Ronen and her carer Anna try to maintain stability, supporting her as her musical world grows increasingly present and impossible to ignore. Sometimes the music exists only in her mind, and sometimes it spills into reality, affecting everyone around her in unexpected ways.

As boundaries blur between imagination and the everyday, those closest to her are forced to ask how you care for someone whose joy is boundless — and whether protecting them sometimes means letting the music play on.
