What is Rhythm Riot?

George Balanchine’s Symphony in Three Movements is a 21-minute corker. the bold propulsion of Stravinsky’s percussive music driving 32 dancers with no tutus – only leotards, no tiaras – only ponytails, and no story. 

Step inside Auguries of Innocence (world premiere) a poetic meditation on our connection to the natural and spiritual worlds. Drawing on William Blake’s poetry and Peteris Vasks’ music, Jae Man Joo has choreographed a rich piece with anguish, yearning and lyricism combined.

Finally, Micaela Taylor’s Bow Out (World premiere). Choreographer Micaela Taylor draws upon the legendary Nicholas Brothers and Bil ‘Bojangles’ Robinson. Taylor’s world premiere shows her memorable style of storytelling.
