As three small-time crooks, Donny Dubrow, Walter “Teach” Cole and Bobby plan one big-time heist, a tragedy of errors spins this razor-sharp and darkly funny play into a blistering account of divided loyalties, insatiable greed…and a coveted Buffalo nickel.
Considered a classic of the American canon and recognised as one of Mamet’s masterpieces, American Buffalo premiered at the Goodman Theatre, Chicago and opened on Broadway in February 1977. The play was also adapted into to a 1996 film starring Dennis Franz (Don), Dustin Hoffman (Teach) and Sean Nelson (Bobby).
Damian Lewis won unanimous international acclaim for his role in Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning drama Homeland. Lewis starred was awarded the 2013 Golden Globe for 'Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series’ and a 2012 Primetime Emmy Award for ‘Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series’ among other accolades for his role. He is currently starring as Henry VIII in Wolf Hall (BBC2)
John Goodman's recent stage credits include Waiting for Godot (Studio 54, New York) and Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui (The Public Theatre, New York). Before that, he graced the stage in Big River, which earned him a Drama Desk nomination. He also recently appeared in the Amazon series Alpha House and the movies The Gambler, The Monuments Men and Monsters University .
Tom Sturridge theatre credits include Orphans on Broadway, Simon Stephens Punk Rock (Lyric Hammersmith & Manchester Royal Exchange) for which he received Critics Circle Best Newcomer and Polly Stenham's No Quarter (Royal Court Theatre). His upcoming screen credits include Far From the Mading Crowd opposite Carey Mulligan, and the role of Henry VI in The Hollow Crown.
