There’s no business like tickets for The Prom London transfer

All-new musical The Prom has been kicking up a storm over on Broadway and has been nominated in many categories, including ‘Outstanding New Broadway Musical’ for both the Outer Critics Circle Awards and Drama League Awards. The Prom tickets are going to be highly sought-after once this anticipated musical announces its West End debut.

What is The Prom musical about?

The story follows four famous Broadway has-been actors who travel to the fictitious town of Edgewater, Indiana after reading about a lesbian student who was refused by her high school to bring her girlfriend to prom. Their intentions seem good, wanting to help this young girl, but they have slight ulterior motives as they hope to soak up the good press in an attempt to appear selfless and become relevant again. In the fight to get prom back on and to make it inclusive, the actors question what it is to be successful after all.

The creative committee behind The Prom

The new book for this all-new production comes from award-winning writer and actor Bob Martin and four-time Tony-nominee Chad Beguelin (Disney’s Aladdin), who also provided the musical's lyrics. The show also features music and vocal arrangements from Tony and Emmy-nominated Matthew Sklar. The Prom began in Atlanta, Georgia in 2016 before making its Broadway premiere in October 2018, and soon enough it will be making waves in London for its West End premiere.

Director Casey Nicholaw (Disney’s Aladdin, The Book of Mormon, Mean Girls) strikes just the right balance between the heart-warming moment and the more outrageous. His choreography also lends to the production as the dance moves ensure the show is still perceived as fun.

This refreshing new musical is just the transfer we’ve been waiting for from Broadway. Tickets for The Prom are perfect for a wide audience; something appealing for all. It’s the feel-good musical that will have you outraged and then bursting with happiness. It’s funny and heart-warming and ready to be staged in the West End alongside Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
