Will Bedknobs and Broomsticks The Musical open in the West End?

What is Bedknobs and Broomsticks about?

Bedknobs and Broomsticks is set during the Blitz and follows the story of the three Rawlins children who along with many others have been evacuated from wartime London and to the countryside. The Rawlins children are assigned to live with Eglantine Price who they later discover is a witch in training. When the dangers of the war come creeping ashore, they join forces to defeat the enemy. This magical adventure will take you from Portobello Road to the bottom of the beautiful briny sea, discovering fantasy and surprising friendships along the way.

The Disney film was released in 1971 and starred Angela Lansbury as Eglantine Price alongside David Tomlinson as Emelius Brown. The film Bedknobs and Broomsticks features music by the Sherman Brothers, including popular favourites such as ‘Portobello Road’ and ‘The Age of Not Believing’.
