Following his huge Off-Broadway success in New York, Tony Award winner, two-time Grammy Award winner and two-time Academy Award nominee Jim Dale will bring his critically acclaimed show, Just Jim Dale, to The Vaudeville Theatre

Jim Dale is one of the world’s great stage entertainers: singer, dancer, comedian, Shakespearean actor, raconteur. In Just Jim Dale, Jim takes audiences on a journey through an unequalled career in the theatre with a myriad of irresistible showbiz tales, songs and performances – a career extending from performing as the youngest professional comedian on the British Music Hall stage, to joining the National Theatre at the request of Sir Laurence Olivier, starring in 11 Carry On films, his Broadway triumphs in Scapino, Barnum and Me and My Girl, and then his uproarious experiences narrating all seven Harry Potter audiobooks for the US market.

“Jim Dale may just be the most charming farceur to tread the boards. He holds you in his palms, his feet, his whole body for two uninterrupted hours” Eye On Theatre

“Of all the pleasures of New York city this summer, at the top of my list is Dale performing ’The Lambeth Walk’ from ’Me and My Girl.’” New York Post

“Jim Dale says it all and does it all. He has a love of the spotlight that spreads it warmth to the remotest rows of the audience” The New York Times

The time just flew by. Jim sang, danced, told jokes, even did a bit of straight acting. The show had everything. A man behind me said "I feel knackered just watching him!". He had so much energy, it was unbelievable. I hope Mr Dale comes back to the British stage very soon!

Everything and more than we had hoped for. What a lovely man and a brilliant show. Wish we had seen it in NY too!

Excellent show. Good to hear some of the oldies and to place them in context. What a multi talented man and a great mover. Hard to believe he is almost 80.

Just Jim Dale is a fantastic show, full of laughter, songs and amusing anecdotes. He takes you on a journey through his early life to the present day and it is a rare and wonderful opportunity to witness the many varied talents of Jim Dale.

We could not fault his performance

I really enjoyed the show and it would appeal to mainly people who have followed Jim Dale over the years. He was still a great entertainer and held the audience captive for the shows duration. I personally would have loved more about the Carry On films but that is pure personal opinion and does not take anything away from the performance. A lovely way to spend the afternoon of pure nostalgia and variety.

Excellent show. Amazing life story.

Very very marvellous. There can't be anybody else remaining with his background of vast Variety/Music Hall touring experience, as well as his considerable film & theatre pedigree. An amazing talent and a superb solo performer. I'm grateful to have seen him in such a beautifully planned and performed show.

Jim Dale delivered the true spirit of Vaudeville, entertainment without prejudice and never aloof. Here is is an Everyman who discovered his passion and never hesitated in following through. No better venue than the Vaudevile theatre for the experience. A joy from beginning to end.
