What is The Cher Show?

Cher is often compared to a phoenix because she always rises from the ashes, each comeback as iconic as the last. A quadruple threat, the living legend is a successful singer and actress and a highly influential style icon and social activist.

This bio-musical paints the story of Cherilyn Sarkisian, known around the world by her stage name, Cher, and commonly referred to as the "Goddess of Pop." The Cher Show brings us six decades worth of story and takes us on her sequin-studded journey into icon status. The Dark Lady is an unstoppable force who remains a constant, unlike other stars that come and go. She may have a Grammy, an Oscar, and an Emmy, but her credibility goes way beyond that. She is also known for breaking the barriers in a male-dominated industry and rising to the top and is the only artist to have a number-one single in six consecutive decades on the Billboard charts.

Will it include iconic Cher hits?

The Cher Show features an astounding 35 songs from Cher's greatest hits! This bio-musical wouldn't be complete without all the Cher songs we know and love. It includes songs from duo Sonny & Cher, the "it" couple of the 60s and 70s, most popularly known for their breakthrough number one hit, 'I Got You Babe.' From the beginning of her career as half of an iconic duo to her pioneering dance-pop song 'Believe', this show has it all. No matter what your favourite Cher song is, you're highly likely to find it in this production.

Who created The Cher Show?

The Cher Show creative team features Cher herself. She remains an active force in the musical's production, having worked alongside four-time Tony Award-winner Jeffrey Seller (HamiltonRent) to produce the show. The book comes from Rick Elice (Jersey BoysThe Addams Family) with direction from Arlene Phillips (Saturday Night Fever, Starlight Express, Grease).

The UK and Ireland tour production features choreography by Oti Mabuse (two-time Strictly Come Dancing champion) and costume design by Gabriella Slade (Six, In The Heights, Spice World 2019 Tour). The Cher Show also features Ben Cracknell's lighting design and Dan Samson's sound design. Tom de Keyser and Hamish Greer of Royo Entertainment will produce the production.

The Cher Show: UK and Ireland Tour 2022/23

The Cher musical opened in Chicago in June 2018 and later transferred to Broadway in December 2018. It was due to move to London in 2020 but was unfortunately cancelled. However, as more venues reopen, the fantastic production finally crosses the Atlantic to wow audiences around the UK and Ireland.

The Cher Show tickets are in high demand, just like the tickets for her record-breaking tours, and you won't want to miss the chance to see the story of this icon when it comes to the West End.
