The Pianist London Tickets

The world stage premiere of The Pianist comes to Park Theatre from 15 October to 28 November 2026. Based on Wladyslaw Szpilman’s internationally bestselling memoir and featuring his own music, this landmark new production is adapted and directed by Thom Southerland (Titanic the Musical).

What is The Pianist about?

The Pianist tells the extraordinary true story of Władysław Szpilman, a celebrated Polish-Jewish pianist and composer whose life was torn apart by the Nazi occupation of Warsaw during the Second World War.

Based on Szpilman’s memoir, the production follows his journey from the golden age of Jewish Warsaw, where his music filled concert halls and cafés, through the devastation of the Holocaust and his fight to survive. His music becomes a thread connecting the life he knew with the unimaginable circumstances he is forced to endure.

For the first time, Szpilman’s own compositions take centre stage, with original songs and arrangements given new life through orchestrations by Simon Lee, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s long-time musical director. A cast of virtuoso actor-musicians brings the world of Warsaw to life, capturing both its warmth and wit and the extraordinary resilience of its people.

At its heart, The Pianist is a love letter to culture, creativity and the artists who carried them through one of history’s darkest chapters.
