David Nicholl’s bestselling novel One Day is coming to the West End as a musical adaptation, starring Jamie Muscato and Sharon Rose reprising their roles as the romantic leads, Emma and Dexter.
The highly acclaimed world premiere hit Edinburgh last year rather fittingly, with both characters being from the city. The story follows a couple who spend a night together on 15th July 1988, knowing the following day they will go their separate ways living different lives. The audience will visit their lives on the same day, for every year, for the next 20 years. A lot can happen within a year, let alone one day.
Jamie Muscato is best known for his portrayal of Jason Dean (J.D.) in the original West End production of Heathers: The Musical in 2018. Since then, he has played the role of Christian in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Jay Gatsby in The Great Gatsby alongside Corbin Bleu, and is now starring as the Emcee opposite Joy Woods in Cabaret* *at The Kit Kat Club, until September 2026.
Sharon Rose’s extensive theatre credits include the titular role in Sylvia at The Old Vic opposite Beverley Knight, as well as playing Eliza in Hamilton, West End. She has also been seen in BBC’s Silent Witness.
One Day The Musical is guaranteed to pull on the heartstrings, with these two powerhouse performers and a timeless and universal story about the cruelty of time and swings of life. Coming soon to the Garrick Theatre from 17 November, get your tickets now, don’t regret it 20 years later.
