Damian Lewis , John Goodman and Tom Sturridge star  a major new revival of David Mamet’s gripping 1975 play American Buffalo directed by Daniel Evans at Wyndham’s Theatre for a strictly limited season.

Winning the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for best play, American Buffalo examines the fickle nature of honour among thieves. As three small-time crooks, Donny Dubrow, Walter “Teach” Cole and Bobby plan one big-time heist, a tragedy of errors spins this razor-sharp and darkly funny play into a blistering account of divided loyalties, insatiable greed…and a coveted Buffalo nickel.

The play was also adapted into to a 1996 film starring Dennis Franz (Don), Dustin Hoffman (Teach) and Sean Nelson (Bobby).

Damian Lewis won unanimous international acclaim for his role in Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning drama Homeland. Lewis starred was awarded the 2013 Golden Globe for 'Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series’ and a 2012 Primetime Emmy Award for ‘Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series’ among other accolades for his role. He is currently starring as Henry VIII in Wolf Hall (BBC2)

The play was very well executed, I enjoyed the settings - the actors were splendid However the price for the performance is getting ridiculous in London : 2 tickets / 2nd row in Royal Circle for £ 257,- is borderline. I

It is a fantastic production. The play is thought-provoking and gripping and the acting from all 3 actors was superb.

Great version of a typical Mamet piece. Special credit to Tom Sturridge as Bob, a mercurial performance.

Ian Mason20th June

The show and acting was fantastic. Engrossing stuff. Absolutely recommended. All 3 actors were fantastic. Only disappointing thing was we were in the back row of the balcony and having people standing over you at the back made it very uncomfortable.

Anthony Delamothe17th June

Ridiculously, laughably expensive. Every other aspect of the production was brilliant.

Nancy Alpers14th June

The opportunity to experience top rate acting talent was excellent.
