Tall Stories' Olivier nominated stage adaptation of Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler flies back into the West End, to the Lyric Theatre.
How the cat purred and how the witch grinned as they sat on their broomstick and flew through the wind.
The witch and her cat are flying happily along on their broomstick when a stormy wind blows the witch's hat, bow and wand away into the night.
A helpful dog, bird and frog find the witch's lost things and all hop on the broom for a ride. But this broomstick's not meant for five and - CRACK! - it snaps in two! When a hungry dragon appears, who will save the poor witch?
And will there ever be room on the broom for everyone?

This is one of my daughter’s favourite stories and she watches it all the time on TV. This was her first show at a major theatre after seeing several local shows. We loved seeing all the characters and the clever choreography that allowed the actors to change roles and swap puppets. However, it felt about 10 minutes too long as he attention wavered. There wasn’t as much interaction as I had hoped but it was probably also because we were in the Upper Circle.

Good fun for the kids. Perhaps a little pricey tho

A lively production of the book. It seemed a little strange that the cat was acted and the other animals were puppets, may have preferred if all characters were acted. The lyric theatre may not be the best venue for an audience of such a young age, especially when sitting in the upper circle! Overall 8/10
