Ken Stott, Anna Friel and Samuel West star in Chekhov's Uncle Vanya at the Vaudeville Theatre

Ken Stott, Anna Friel and Samuel West star in a new West End production of Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, adapted by Christopher Hampton and directed by Lindsay Posner at the Vaudeville Theatre from 24th October 2012. The production is booking through to February 16th 2013.
 


Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, Vanya, Yelena,  Astrov and Sonya are all in love  with the past, with ideals and with each other. As their universe shifts around them they struggle to keep their emotions at bay in this exquisitely evoked comedy of the trials and tribulations of the human condition.

Ken Stott’s Theatre credits include Art (Wyndham's), God of Carnage (Gielgud), A View from the Bridge (Duke of York's) and Heroes (Wyndham’s). On TV he is best known for Messiah, Toast, The Vice and Rebus as well as One Day, Charlie Wilson's War, Girl In a Café and Shallow Grave on film. He also stars in the upcoming film version of The Hobbit.

Last seen on the London stage as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's (Haymarket),  Anna Friel also starred in Lulu and Look Europe, both at the Almeida, and on Broadway in Patrick Marber's Closer (for which she won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Play).  Her TV roles include The Street, Pushing Daisies, Neverland, Without You and Brookside. Her film credits includeLimitless, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, Land of the Lost and London Boulevard.

Samuel West was in the original production of Enron (Chichester, Royal Court and West End), and he has also appeared in A Number at the Menier Chocolate Factory, Hamlet and Richard II both for the RSC. Films include Van HelsingandEternal Law.

Lindsay Posner’s production of Mike Leigh's Abigail's Party from the Menier Chocolate Factory is currently playing at the Noel Coward Theatre and also recently, his production of Noises Off transferred from the Old Vic to the Novello. His other West End credits include Death and the Maiden, An Ideal Husband, Fool for Love, A View From the Bridge and Butley.
