THE EXONERATED OPENS AT THE CHARING CROSS THEATRE

Posted on 16 February 2011

The ground-breaking, critically acclaimed play 'The Exonerated' comes to London for 6 weeks only from Tuesday 1 March - Saturday 9 April. Playing at The Charing Cross Theatre, formerly The New Players.

IMAGINE EVERYTHING YOU DID BETWEEN THE YEARS OF 1994 – 2010… NOW REMOVE ALL OF IT.

16 years were taken away from Sunny Jacobs, convicted and sentenced to death for a crime she did not commit. Culled from interviews, letters, transcripts, case files, and the public record, THE EXONERATED tells the true stories of six people sent to Death Row for crimes they did not commit. The interweaving stories paint a picture of an American criminal justice system gone horribly wrong and of six brave souls who persevered to survive it.

Winner of the 2003 Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards, THE EXONERATED played over 600 off-Broadway performances and played a sell-out season at The Riverside Studios in 2006. Rising Young Director JACKLYN MCLOUGHLIN directs this new production with a cast including Kelle Bryan (My Fair Lady, Bouncers, The Brothers), Glenn Carter (Jersey Boys, West End; Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar on Broadway, West End and film), Golden Globe and BAFTA nominated actress Lisa Eichhorn (Law and Order, The Talented Mr Ripley, Yanks, Cutter’s Way) legendary British entertainer Derek Griffiths (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Beauty and the Beast, West End) and Olivier Award winner Gabriella Santinelli.
