Oscar Wilde’s Lady Windermere’s Fan is now playing at London's Vaudeville Theatre, directed by Kathy Burke and guest starring the inimitable Jennifer Saunders.

Oscar Wilde’s comedy about love, betrayals and family is now in the West End as part of a year long season of Oscar Wilde at the Vaudeville. On the day of Lady Windermere’s birthday party, all appears to be going well until a seed of discontent is sown leading Lady Windermere to question her husband’s fidelity.

Award winning actor and director Kathy Burke has assembled an astounding comedic cast. Olivier award winner Samantha Spiro plays Mrs Erlynne alongside Kevin Bishop as Lord Darlington. Actor, writer and comedian Jennifer Saunders has returned to the West End stage for the first time in over two decades to guest star as the Duchess of Berwick. Saunders is best known for the tour de force BBC show Absolutely Fabulous, and its subsequent film, as well as the sketch-show French and Saunders.

Former artistic director of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre Dominic Dromgoole’s new theatre company, Classic Spring, is presenting a yearlong season of Oscar Wilde plays, centring on his Victorian plays. The season includes A Woman of No Importance De Profundis, The Selfish Giant, An Ideal Husband, and The Importance of Being Earnest

Lady Windermere's Fan tickets are still available, book them, along with tickets to the rest of the Oscar Wilde season soon!

A very good show. The play is marvellous and this team did a first class job of it, we were both very pleased with our afternoon's entertainment.

Really funny, great production. The cast were superb.

Adam Adkins3rd April

A wonderful play by Wilde needless to say but this production would be lacklustre without Jennifer Saunders whose stage presence and comic timing were superb. I felt the overall timing was too fast for the script. Even Saunders delivered her lines so fast in Act One as if she was afraid she'd forget them. All the famous lines were delivered so casually in an effort not to be studied that it lacked the delicious sophistication one might expect with Wilde's writing. A more leisurely Act One with a softer nuance from Lady Windermere would really help ease the audience into a rather brittle but still overall enjoyable evening - only because of Saunders.

Alexandra 3rd April

The play was cast brilliantly; a thoroughly entertaining evening was had by all.

Pamela Harper3rd April

Show was fantastic but the programme was TERRIBLE- one needs a synopsis and the Acts clearly shown Dispense with some advertising to do the right thing

My seat had a restricted view which was not pointed out when I booked and paid for my seat so I was very very disappointed and will feel strongly about using London Theatre Direct again for booking future tickets
