What is To Kill A Mockingbird about?

Set in 1930s Alabama during the Great Depression, To Kill A Mockingbird is a stage adaptation of Harper Lee’s classic novel, playing in the West End at Wyndham's Theatre. The story follows lawyer Atticus Finch as he defends Tom Robinson, a Black man falsely accused of a crime, in a deeply divided town.

Through the eyes of Scout and Jem Finch, the play explores themes of racial injustice, morality, empathy and growing up in a prejudiced society. This powerful London theatre production asks what it truly means to do the right thing when the world is watching — and when it refuses to listen.
