About Gruffalo

Gruffalo returns at the Lyric Theatre

The monster family show, The Gruffalo, returns to the West End to the Lyric Theatre

Tall Stories' hit musical is an adaptation of the award winning picture book, The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.

Voted the nation's number one bedtime story by BBC Radio 2 listeners, The Gruffalo has been performed to well over a million people worldwide and has even hit the small screens in a star-studded TV animation.

Meet a wheeler-dealer Fox, an eccentric old Owl and a maraca-shaking, party mad Snake! Mouse can scare these hungry animals away with tall stories of the terrifying Gruffalo, but what happens when he comes face to face with the very creature he imagined...?

‘The cast of three uses an expressive physicality and minimal props to bring the story to wonderful life… The gently witty songs keep the action bouncing along… This is an irresistibly charming tale told with refreshing simplicity’ The Times

‘Tall Stories have transformed a well-loved story into an exuberant, funny show’ Time Out

The Gruffalo is the ideal introduction to theatre for pre and primary school children and their families; with plenty of songs, laughs and fun for children aged 3+ and their grown-ups.

Amazing performance, the cast were brilliant. The only negative was that my 2 year old had her own seat, however she couldn't sit on it as she wasn't heavy enough to hold it down and it kept springing closed, so it was a wasted seat.

Very good show and was thoroughly enjoyed by both children and adults. One of our seats had reduced visibility but don't recall this being pointed out at time of booking.

3 January

It was a fantastic interactive show for the kids!

It was a real treat for my son and myself. However ,I think that parents of under three should wait to enjoy the experience. There was far too much noise from babies and toddlers. I have experienced the gruff alo 4 years ago with my elder and yesterday with my youngest.ln my view that's the way .I wouldn't have thought to bring my infant along 4 years ago.

Not a comment on the show. We were unable to go due to illness and unable to return/refund/exchange tickets. Not a surprise as this was made clear in advance but still annoying.
