David Fynn is a British-Irish actor, producer and screenwriter. He trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. He also has a shared podcast with his wife called The Baby Making Business, where they discuss their fertility and IVF journey. His next step is to take on the role of Beetlejuice in the much anticipated West End transfer.
Where have you seen David Fynn before?
He is known for taking on the larger than life character Dewey Finn (Jack Black’s character in the film version) in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical adaptation of School of Rock in 2016. For his memorable take on Dewey, he earnt himself an Olivier nomination for Best Actor in a Musical (2017).
He has also received award nominations for his performance as Tony Lumpkin in the National Theatre’s revival of the 1773 comedic play, She Stoops to Conquer (2012) directed by Jamie Lloyd.
Fynn has also had his fair share of television appearances including Game of Thrones, Sherlock, Doctor Who, The Inbetweeners, Black Mirror and Peep Show. And most notably, he played Alex in BBC’s Am I Being Unreasonable? created by Daisy May Cooper.
