Born in the middle of the United States, in the middle of the twentieth century was Charlie Fairbanks.

Americans are on their way to space, headed to the Moon, and Charlie is certain he's going to be one of the first ones there.

Americans are going to the Moon and Charlie’s sure he’ll be the first one there. But as he turns his spotlight on the Moon, he also illuminates the darker side of his country's history.

The Arcola Theatre production of Al Smith's Radio stars Adam Gillen (Killer Joe at Trafalgar Studios, The Lions Mouth and War and Peace at the Royal Court Theatre) as Charlie Fairbanks. The Off-West End play is directed by Josh Roche and features design by Sophie Thomas, lighting design by Peter Small, sound design by Ella Wahlstrom, assistant direction by Kaleya Baxe, production management by Ian Taylor, and stage management by Megan Bly.
