The Girl on the Train: A commute to worldwide success

This breath-baiting story began as a novel by Paula Hawkins, which went on to become an international bestseller. The Girl on the Train rose to further popularity when Dreamworks Film adapted the story into a film starring Golden Globe-winning, BAFTA-nominated actress Emily Blunt. Now the journey goes further, after Rachel Wagstaff and Duncan Abel adapted the story into a gripping play.

The Girl on the Train first-class cast!

Starring as Rachel Watson is Samantha Womack, who has an extensive career in television, theatre and film. She’s best known for her role of Ronnie Mitchell in BBC’s EastEnders. Womack has played leading roles in Mount Pleasant and Game On, and has also starred in the box office smash-hit The Kingsman series. She is best known on stage for her role as Morticia Addams in the touring musical comedy The Addams Family.

Starring alongside Womack is Oliver Farnworth who has a vast career on stage and television. He is well known for his roles in Hollyoaks and ITV's Coronation Street. His most recent television appearance has been in ITV's popular series EndeavourPhilip McGinley, best known for his role in HBO Smash-hit Game of Thrones, joins the cast as Scott Hipwell.

Also joining the cast are Lowenna Melrose (Greta in Witness for the Prosecution), Kirsty Oswald (BBCs The Coroner), Adam Jackson-Smith (The 39 Steps), Naeem Hayat (Hamlet – World Tour) and John Dougall (Anne Boleyn).
