Here’s a rundown of 10 Famous People on Stage in London This Summer.

See the Stranger Things star, Sadie Sink perform at the Harold Pinter Theatre as the tragically romantic lead in Romeo & Juliet, for a limited time only until 20th June. Sink has been applauded for her memorable performance in Season 4 of the Netflix show, Stranger Things. Her most notable scene soundtracked to the euphoric sound of Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’, which has now become a Stranger Things fan playlist staple. Sink stars alongside Noah Jupe as Romeo, he has previously starred in critically acclaimed A Quiet Place Part II and the Oscar nominated film, Hamnet. Hurry, must end this June.

Are we bovvered though? This is a show you should definitely bovver to see with Catherine Tate starring as the historically inaccurate Mary Todd Lincoln in Oh, Mary! Tate is known for her BBC sketch comedy series, The Catherine Tate Show featuring sketch characters Joanie Taylor, the foul-mouthed gran and Lauren Cooper, the argumentative lazy teen school girl. She also notably starred alongside David Tennant in Doctor Who (Series 4, 2008) as the Doctor’s companion, Donna. See Oh, Mary! at the Trafalgar Theatre before the show closes 18th July.

And one for the RuPaul’s Drag Race fans, Jinkx Monsoon is coming to London to star in the tragic yet touching story of Judy Garland in End of the Rainbow. Monsoon is not only the winner of the fifth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, but returned for the All-Stars season and stole the crown once more. Monsoon was also in the 14th series of Doctor Who as the villain, Maestro. London’s variety of shows is a must-see for Doctor Who fans old and new! See End of the Rainbow at Soho Theatre Walthamstow until 21st June.

The Eurovision star is putting ‘Jesus, those are some vocals’ into Jesus Christ, in the much anticipated revival of Jesus Christ Superstar coming to the London Palladium, from June. And that superstar is Sam Ryder along with a stellar line up of King Herods including Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family), Boy George, Layton Williams (Bad Education), Richard Armitage (The Hobbit), Julian Clary (comedian, winner of Celebrity Big Brother, 2012) and Simon Russell Beale (celebrated for his extensive work with RSC and the National Theatre).

Matt Cardle and Johannes Radebe have taken on the lead roles in the heartwarming story of the unlikely pair in Kinky Boots at the London Coliseum. Cardle won X-Factor in 2010, beating Rebecca Furguson, Cher Lloyd and the mega-star boyband sensation, One Direction. Johannes also comes from the world of reality TV competitions as a regular on Strictly Come Dancing as one of the professional dancers.

Speaking of reality TV competition stars, Alexandra Burke, another X-Factor winner (2008) is taking on portraying the icon, Chaka Khan in the I’m Every Woman musical. Chaka Khan is known for her big hits ‘Ain’t Nobody’, ‘Tell Me Something Good’, ‘Sweet Thing’ and ‘I Feel For You’. The show opens at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre on 22nd July. Burke is a must-see on stage, with her West End credits including Sister Act and The Bodyguard

With the sequel of The Devil Wears Prada hitting cinemas, it’s time to take a trip to see Vanessa Williams as none other than the iconic character, Miranda Priestly. Williams doesn’t shy away from these larger than life roles, as the malicious power-hungry villain of the 2006-2010 series Ugly Betty. Williams also joined Desperate Housewives in 2010. See the devil herself at the Dominion Theatre this summer.

Ralph Fiennes is starring alongside Miranda Raison in Grace Pervades, a new play by David Hare. Fiennes is known for his portrayal of the unbeatable villain, Voldemort in the Harry Potter series, as well as more recent movies including Conclave (2024), The Menu (2022) and 28 Years Later (2025). See the stars at the Theatre Royal Haymarket until 11th July.

High Society opens for a Summer run at the Barbican from 19th May, bringing some high-brow star casting along with it. Helen George stars as Tracy Lord. George is known for her role in Call the Midwife series. Joining her as Mother Lord, Felicity Kendal is known for her role in the 1970s BBC sitcom, The Good Life

The stars are certainly warming up for their summer in London’s West End, but if you’re a fan of these big names, book in quick as these shows are often on for very limited runs.
