About The Snowman

A beloved Christmas story is getting a spectacular new life on stage. The Snowman returns to London for Christmas 2026 in a brand-new production, bringing Raymond Briggs’ cherished story to audiences with a fresh take on the magical world of the original.

When a young boy’s snowman magically comes to life on Christmas Eve, the pair embark on an unforgettable adventure through the night. Their journey takes them soaring through the winter sky, where they encounter Father Christmas, friendly reindeer and a magical gathering of snow people beneath the Northern Lights.

While the story remains rooted in the timeless world created by Raymond Briggs, this new production brings a fresh visual and theatrical approach, with beautifully crafted puppets, live music, dance and spectacular design. At its centre is Howard Blake’s iconic score, including the much-loved Walking in the Air.

The production is directed and choreographed by Olivier Award-winning Will Tuckett, whose credits include Into the Woods at the Royal Opera House and The Nutcracker at the National Ballet of Japan. Anna Fleischle is responsible for the production design, with credits including Punch and 2:22 A Ghost Story, while award-winning puppet designer Tahra Zafar brings the iconic Snowman and his world to life.
