The Comedy About a Bank Robbery takes place in the summer of 1958 and is set in Minneapolis, where a local bank has been entrusted with a precious diamond deposited by a Hungarian prince. A convict breaks out of Canadian prison with his eyes set on the prize, crossing the border to nick the diamond.

Accompanied by his inept sidekick, swindling girlfriend, and a maintenance man among others, the group band together to carry out the biggest heist of the century. But eventually they come to realise that their little alliance is not at all what it seems following a series of love triangles, hidden agendas and secret identities. And in a town full of criminals, who will be the lucky thief to steal the Hungarian jewel?

The play's production company, Mischief Theatre, was created by a group of graduates of the London Academy of Music & Art 2008 graduating class. Since the formation of Mischief Theatre, they have created several hilarious and award-winning shows, including The Play That Goes Wrong and Peter Pan Goes Wrong.
