The award-winning Hamilton musical first premiered Off-Broadway at The Public Theater in February 2015 before transferring to Broadway’s Richard Rodgers Theatre later that year, where it became a global phenomenon. Written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Hamilton has won a Grammy Award, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and earned a record-breaking 16 Tony Award nominations. The Hamilton London production has also been a huge success, winning seven Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical. In 2020, the filmed Broadway performance starring Lin-Manuel Miranda debuted on Disney+, introducing the hit show to millions worldwide. Hamilton's characters are drawn from real figures in American history, reimagined with a modern, diverse cast. 

• Alexander Hamilton - The main antagonist of this story. An immigrant who becomes the first treasury secretary and Washington’s go to man. 
• Aaron Burr - Hamilton’s rival, and the show’s narrator. He served as the third vice president during Thomas Jefferson’s first presidential term. 
• Eliza Hamilton - The wife to Alexander Hamilton. Previously, a Schuyler. She later starts up the first private orphanage in New York. 
• George Washington - The first US president, and army general who fought for America’s independence. He was a father figure and mentor to Hamilton. 
• King George III - The king of Britain, famous for losing the American colonies and also known for his declining mental illness.

The History of Hamilton

Lin-Manuel Miranda come across Ron Chernow’s Hamilton biography on a holiday in 2008. He spent the next seven years writing and perfecting the show. Hamilton debuted off-Broadway in February 2015, at The Public Theatre, which sold out immediately. Following its success the show transferred to Broadway’s Richard Rogers in August 2015. The growing success and popularity meant the West End production opened almost two years later at the Victoria Palace Theatre in December 2017.

What are the best seats to see Hamilton?

Stalls is a great place to sit if you want to get close to the action, but equally the The Royal Circle is located above the stalls offering excellent views of the stage, and unlike some other theatres of its age it does not have any pillars creating restricted views within its auditorium. The Grand Circle is also severely raked which means a great view of the stage, but with limited legroom.
