Carole King wrote some of the greatest 60s & 70s hits, but her own voice is just BEAUTIFUL.

About Beautiful: The Carole King Musical

The smash hit Broadway musical, Beautiful - The Carole King Musical at the Aldwych Theatre is the untold story of Carole King’s journey from school girl to superstar; from her relationship with husband and song-writing partner Gerry Goffin, their close friendship and playful rivalry with fellow song-writing duo Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, to her remarkable rise to stardom.

Along the way, she became one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history, and wrote the soundtrack to a generation.

Carole King, the chart-topping music legend, was an ordinary girl with an extraordinary talent.

She fought her way into the record industry as a teenager and sold her first hit, Will You Love Me Tomorrow, when she was just seventeen. By the time she was twenty she was writing number ones for the biggest acts in rock ‘n’ roll, including the Drifters, the Shirelles, Aretha Franklin and the Monkees...But her greatest challenge was to find her own voice and finally step into the spotlight.

Cassidy Janson joins the West End production of Beautiful - The Carole King Musical to play the title role from 30 November 2015. Also joining the cast will be Diane Keen as Genie Klein, King’s mother.   Alan Morrissey will continue as King’s husband and song-writing partner Gerry Goffin as well as Lorna Want as song-writer Cynthia Weil, Ian McIntosh as song-writer Barry Mann and Gary Trainor as music publisher and producer Don Kirshner.

Excellent in every way - an amazing evening!

Wonderful songs, good lead artists, quite weak support artists, story had little to hold me, I'm sure her life could have portrayed in a better way. Second half was much better than the first, it felt as though it was slow and laboured at first. A couple of lighting cues were missed and sound could have been stronger. But worth it just for the song quality.

A Wonderful Show which delivered in spades! We knew we would enjoy Carol King's iconic music but were blown away with the overall quality of production underpinning this show; great supporting cast and orchestra, superb choreography and a positive vibe transmitting from every player on stage. One of the best musicals we have seen.
