About Sister Act
It’s hard to imagine there are people who haven’t seen the hilarious 1992 film or one of the multiple-stage productions that have taken Deloris and her sisters worldwide but let’s recap just in case. Sister Act The Musical, now set in the present day, follows disco diva Deloris Van Cartier, whose world takes a drastic turn when she is witness to a murder.
Taken into witness protection and disguised as a nun, they’re sure no one will find this songster at a convent… or at least they hope so! Under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris makes an unexpected bond with her sisters through music. Whilst she helps them find their voices, she rediscovers her own. Sister Act is as hilarious as it is heart-warming; a fabulous tribute to the beauty of friendship, sisterhood and music.
Sister Act The Musical London cast
The revival will be graced by the talents of Beverley Knight, Alexandra Burke and Ruth Jones. Knight is a renowned theatre star, singer, actress and recipient of the Olivier Award for her performance in Sylvia at the Old Vic, and Alexandra Burke, is a bestselling artist and musical theatre star. Ruth Jones is best known for co-creating and Gavin and Stacey, in which she also starred as Stacey's foul mouthed friend Nessa. Both Knight and Burke will portray the character of Deloris Van Cartier, with Knight performing from 15 March to 8 June 2024, and Burke taking over the role from 10 June to 31 August 2024. Notably, Burke has previously played the role of Deloris in the 2016 tour, whilst Knight played the role in 2022. Jones will be commanding the stage, and the covent, as Mother Superior.
Further casting is yet to be revealed.

Yesterday, SOLT announced that London theatres would remain closed until at least 28 June. West End Sister Act revival with Whoopi Goldberg postponed to 2021
The highly anticipated London revival of Sister Act has been rescheduled to July and August 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The divine musical comedy was history in the making with A-list actress Whoopi Goldberg set to reprise her role as Deloris Van Cartier from the original film — a casting move that drove rapid ticket pre-sales and helped break Eventim Apollo box office records. Current ticketholders will be able to use their tickets for the new run with their same seats kept for equivalent performances by day of the week for next year's run. There is no need to contact your point of sale directly.
